SurveyMonkey
Introduction
This guide explains how to setup SurveyMonkey for use with Cyclr, as well as installing a SurveyMonkey Connector.
Setup & Authentication
Overview
There are two ways to configure SurveyMonkey for use with Cyclr:
A public app
A private app
You can find more information about SurveyMonkey apps in their FAQ documentation here.
Remote Setup in SurveyMonkey - performed by Cyclr Partner
If you are creating a public app to be used across multiple customers or a private internal app you can create this inside your SurveryMonkey account.
When doing so, on the Settings tab of the app, OAuth Redirect URL must be set to the callback URL of your Cyclr Partner Console.
This has the format: https://{{Your Cyclr Service Domain}}/connector/callback
Once you have created the app, make note of the Client ID and Secret.
Remote Setup in SurveyMonkey - performed by your customer
If your customer is creating their own private app, they can create this inside their SurveyMonkey account.
When doing so, on the Settings tab of the app, OAuth Redirect URL must be set to the callback URL of your Cyclr Partner Console.
This has the format: https://{{Your Cyclr Service Domain}}/connector/callback
Once they have created the app, they should make note of the Client ID and Secret.
Partner Setup in Cyclr Console
If you have created a public app in SurveyMonkey and obtained a Client ID and a Secret, go into your Cyclr Partner Console:
Go to Connectors > Application Connector Library.
Use the search box to locate the SurveyMonkey Connector entry.
Select the Pencil button.
Select the Settings tab.
Enter the below values:
Property | Description |
---|---|
Client ID | The Client ID from your SurveyMonkey app. |
Client Secret | The Secret from your SurveyMonkey app. |
Select Save Changes.
If you leave these values blank, they must be provided each time the Connector is installed.
Cyclr Connector Installation
When installing a SurveyMonkey Connector, if you have provided your own app’s Client ID and Secret in your Partner Console, the user won’t be asked for a Client ID and Secret, otherwise they’ll need to provide them from their own app.
The user will then be taken to a SurveyMonkey consent page to sign in and give consent for their data to be accessed.
